I'm an Office user in the Philippines. I have installs on my laptops and on my mobile devices: one iPhone and two iPads. In images and adverts for Office for iPad, I've noticed that the default unit of measurement for Word is in inches. This is great, because I use imperial units for my documents.
However, when I installed Office for iPad, I noticed straight away that the measurement units are set in centimeters. The Philippines is odd because while the distance between objects is measured using the metric system, the unit of measurement for height, length, and width is in imperial units. Changing the unit of measurement in Office for iPad therefore, has become quite important for me. I've tried to find a way to change the unit of measurement, to no avail. Thanks for replying so early! Also, thanks for suggesting something along the lines of looking through the File menu.
I've tried looking in that area as well, without success. I understand that in Word for iPad, the Options dialog may be found in the Settings app. I attach here a screenshot of the Word Options tab on the Options app. There are no advanced options and there are no other options regarding units of measurement.
I tried adjusting general settings to match the United States (some weird quirk keeps Microsoft insisting on British conventions, when most here use units of measurement from the United States). This workaround also did not work as hoped.
I still wonder if there is an answer out there; the Word app in the Apple Store does display a screenshot using imperial units of measurement, so I surmise the answer is out there.
